What is a safe deposit box and why do I need one?

A safe deposit box is an individually stored container held within a highly secure and private vault, only accessible by the key holder. They are used to store valuable possessions and documents that you might not wish to keep at home. At Sentinel Vaults, you can guarantee the ultimate security for the contents of your safe deposit box.

What do I need to open an account with you?

To open an account with Sentinel Vaults, we will need suitable proof of ID (including a current valid passport or valid EU Driving licence, and a utility bill dated within 3 months). Photocopies are not accepted.

Can I nominate someone else to access my safe deposit box?

At Sentinel Vaults, we provide the option for you to have up to four applicants on your account. This can be family members or close friends.

What can I store inside my safe deposit box?

Safe deposit boxes are mainly used for valuable, precious or irreplaceable possessions, as well the storage of gold bullion and the safekeeping of important documents. For a more in-depth description of what you can keep in your safe deposit box.

Will I need to show or provide description of my items to Sentinel Vaults or anyone else?

The contents of your safe deposit box are completely private. Only you know the contents of your box.

Do I have privacy inside the security vault?

To offer our customers the ultimate privacy, we offer private viewing rooms inside the vault.

What are your opening hours and can I have access after hours?

Our open hours are 9.30am – 5.30pm on Monday to Friday, and 11am to 3pm on Saturday and Sunday. For security purposes, the latest permitted entry time is 15 minutes before advertised closing times.

You cannot access the vault outside of work hours. Once the doors are locked, they are secure until the next business day.

How many keys do I get when opening a box and what happens if I lose my key?

You receive two keys when you open a safe deposit box with Sentinel Vaults. A €100 refundable key deposit fee is required, and we will not have a copy of your keys in our possession.

If you lose your keys, we advise you to come and have the lock replaced for your safe deposit box to keep the security of your contents as tight as possible. Charges may apply.

Why should I choose Sentinel Vaults over other private facilities?

How can I insure the contents of my box?

Sentinel Vaults are pleased to be able to offer all our customers exclusive and bespoke safe deposit box insurance policies. We have teamed up with the market leading insurance firm who specialise in insurance for the Safe Deposit Box Industry

Am I insured if I am wearing my valuables outside the Vault?

We offer a number of insurance policies for your valuables at Sentinel Vaults, one being insurance to cover your valuables off-site for a period of time.

Where are you located and do you have parking?

We are located in one of the most prestigious locations in Ireland on Waterloo Road, Ballbridge, Dublin 4. We are situated in a discrete facility with a state-of-the-art 6 level security system, with private parking available for our customers.

How much does your safe deposit box and document safekeeping service cost?

My title deeds are in my bank, can I move them to Sentinel Vaults?
